Speakerlatch™ Connectors

IO Audio Technologies' Speakerlatch cable and chassis connectors bring ruggedness and dependability to speaker level connections with crucial safety and performance upgrades. They feature a robust twist-to-lock locking mechanism that provides a proper connection being made and virtually eliminates the possibility of accidental unplugging. Additionally, all four contacts are hidden inside the reinforced plastic housing making it impossible for the user to inadvertently touch energized parts. These cable connectors also feature distinct keying patterns that prevent the user from connecting a speaker level line into anything other than a Speakerlatch panel mount connector. The cable connectors feature screw terminals which means they can be assembled using only a Philips screwdriver and wire strippers. Lastly, these connectors feature an ergonomic pull latch which simplifies the process of connection and disconnection, making it easier on the user's hands.

The Speakerlatch panel mount connector replaces traditional binding posts or ¼ inch phone connections when a more rugged solution is necessary or desired. The panel mount connector features flat tab terminations with insulated dividers to prevent arcing and shorting and they feature the same keying and twist-to-lock design as the cable connectors.

Both the cable connector and panel mount connector feature a black, insulated, fiberglass, reinforced nylon housing that provides the connectors with exceptional UV resistance. They also feature four silver-plated copper contacts to provide maximum conductivity and corrosion resistance. This four-contact configuration (+1, -1, +2, -2) allows the user ultimate freedom in customizing the connectors to their specific setup. The standard contact configuration allows the user to run two speakers in full range (speaker one on +1, -1, and speaker two on +2, -2) or a single speaker in a bi-amp configuration (low frequency driver on +1, -1, and high frequency driver on +2, -2) with a maximum conductor outside diameter (OD) of 2.75 mm or 12 AWG.

Speakerlatch connectors all carry UL approval to provide safety assurance.
