TDK InvenSense ultrasonic Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors come in a miniature reflowable package
TDK InvenSense ultrasonic ToF sensors provide range-finding, distance measurement, and presence detection on an integrated MEMS piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducer (PMUT) with an ultra-low power system on chip (SoC) in a miniature reflowable package.
These sensor solutions are capable of ranging to targets of any composition up to 5 meters in any lighting condition, making them ideal for a variety of applications, including obstacle avoidance, presence detection, robotics, security and surveillance, AR/VR, drones, liquid level sensing, smart home/building, and general IoT.
The TDK ultrasonic ToF sensor portfolio includes the ICU-10201 and ICU-2020 versions.
ICU-10201 Ultrasonic ToF Sensor
The TDK InvenSense ICU-10201 high-performance ultrasonic ToF sensor is ideal for measuring the range of objects between 3 cm and 1.2 m and offers a customizable field of view (FoV) of up to 180°. It comes in a 3.5 mm x 3.5 mm x 1.26 mm LGA package and includes an integrated DSP for signal processing. The ICU-10201 extends battery life via its ultra-low power consumption (17 µA to 320 µA depending on the number of samples per second). It is highly flexible, thanks to many embedded programs and data memory. Typical applications for the ICU-10201 include AR/VR, gaming, robotics, drones, mobile and computing devices, obstacle avoidance, floor type and cliff detection for robotic vacuums, and more.

ICU-20201 Ultrasonic ToF Sensor
The TDK InvenSense ICU-20201 high-performance ultrasonic ToF sensor is ideal for measuring the range of objects between 9 cm and 5.0 m and offers a customizable FoV of up to 180°. It comes in a 3.5 mm x 3.5 mm x 1.26 mm LGA package and includes an integrated DSP for signal processing. The ICU-20201 extends battery life via its ultra-low power consumption (18 µA to 296 µA depending on the number of samples per second). It is highly flexible, thanks to a large number of embedded programs and data memory. Typical applications for the ICU-20201 include smart door locks, robotics, drones, home/building automation, proximity and presence sensing, general IoT, and more.
