Image of Infineon's Evaluation board for the 1ED3142MU12FInfineon's EVAL-1ED3142MU12F-SiC is designed in a half-bridge configuration with two gate driver ICs (1ED3142MU12F) for evaluating or testing two power switches such as IGBTs, MOSFETs, and SiC MOSFETs. The board comes pre-populated with two CoolSiC™ MOSFETs (IMZA120R020M1H) with an additional gate driver IC for an isolated overcurrent feedback signal from the high voltage side to the logic control side. A fast-operational amplifier is used as a comparator for on-board overcurrent detection. It is best suited for double-pulse testing.

The 1ED3142MU12F belongs to the EiceDRIVER™ compact 1ED31xx family (X3 compact family). It offers separate sink and source output, accurate and stable timing, active shutdown to ensure a safe power transistor off-state if the output chip is not connected to the power, and short-circuit clamping to limit the gate voltage during short circuits. The driver can operate over a wide supply voltage range, either unipolar or bipolar.

The companion power board Eval-PSIR2085 (sold separately) provides an easy means to power the gate driver board without additional cables or wires and piggybacks immediately below the board for compact operation.
