I-PEX® MHF® 4 and 4L Micro-Connectors

GCT's assemblies are available with MHF 4 and 4L, some of the smallest and most popular connectors in the I-PEX MHF micro-coaxial range. With a frequency of up to 6 GHz, the compact MHF 4 has a 1.2 mm mated height suitable for use with 0.81 mmø cable. Compared to the MHF I variant with a height of 2.5 mm, it is less than half the stack height and is an excellent option for more space-limited designs. MHF 4L mated profile is slightly taller at 1.4 mm with the use of 1.13 mmø cable but remains a great option for compact designs.

Despite having minimal physical dimensions, the mechanical design of the MHF 4 and 4L create a stable connection that is quick and easy to mate and disconnect. Adding to the design flexibility of both connectors, they are a compatible and cost-effective alternative.

There are three cable assemblies available with the I-PEX MHF 4 and 4L micro connector:

• Cable 355: I-PEX MHF 4 to SMA straight jack rear-mount
• Cable 378: I-PEX MHF 4L to RP SMA straight jack rear-mount reverse-polarity IP67/68
• Cable 385: I-PEX MHF 4L to SMA straight jack rear-mount IP67/68

Cable 355 is a popular coaxial cable combination for wireless modules packed with componentry within a small form factor. Cable 378 and 385 utilize the Nautilus SMA rear-mount connector providing IP67/68 sealing characteristics to the bulk head jack, making them a great choice for applications where dustproofing and waterproofing are key design requirements.
