Image of FTDI's FT233HPQ USB Bridge FTDI's FT233HP is a high-speed USB device with a controller IC that fully supports the USB Type-C® and PD standards enabling support for power negotiation with the ability to sink or source current to a USB host device. The USB bridge function delivers one independent channel that is compatible with the FT232H single high-speed USB to multipurpose UART/FIFO solution.

- Port 1 supports dual role swap function
- Port 2 supports sink mode with a charging function through to port 1
Supports 5 V, 3 A; 9 V, 3 A; 12 V, 3 A; 15 V, 3 A; 20 V, 3 A; and more PDOs as a sink or source
Type-C/PD physical layer protocol
PD policy engine using a 32-bit RISC controller with 8 kB data RAM and 48 kB code ROM
PD mode configuration through external EEPROM
Option to use an external MCU controlling PD policy through the I²C interface
Up to eight configurable PD GPIO pins support
External MCU support through the I²C bus
External EEPROM support for USB device configuration and PD profile
Single-channel USB to serial/parallel ports with a variety of configurations
Entire USB protocol handled on the chip (no USB specific firmware programming required)
USB 2.0 high-speed (480 Mb/s) and full-speed (12 Mb/s) compatible
Multiprotocol synchronous serial engine (MPSSE):
- Simplifies synchronous serial protocol (USB to JTAG, I²C [MASTER], SPI [MASTER], or bit-bang) design
UART transfer datarate up to 12M baud (RS232 data rate limited by an external level shifter)
