The Boréas Technologies BOS1931 is a specialized single-chip piezo actuator driver powered by CapDrive technology. Optimized for cooling applications, this efficient driver delivers powerful waveforms up to 190 Vp-p while operating within a 3 V to 5.5 V supply voltage range, making it ideal for applications requiring pure driving capabilities with minimal power consumption.
The streamlined architecture of the BOS1931 focuses on delivering exceptional driving performance, making it the perfect choice for cooling applications where sensing capabilities are not required. Its differential driver ensures low-distortion waveforms and a whisper-quiet actuator operation. All parameters are easily adjustable through the digital front end, optimizing the bill of materials (BOM).
It has a sophisticated digital interface that includes a two-wire MIPI I3C protocol (backward compatible with I2C) and an integrated waveform synthesizer with 2 KB RAM memory. These features enable precise thermal control through high-definition waveform generation with minimal communication overhead. The deep FIFO architecture supports efficient streaming of cooling patterns, ensuring optimal thermal management in various applications.
For complex cooling systems requiring multiple actuators, the BOS1931 provides superior synchronization capabilities through its dedicated SYNC pin, ensuring simultaneous actuation within 2 μs. The rapid start-up time of under 300 μs enables responsive thermal management, while comprehensive safety systems ensure reliable operation in demanding cooling applications.
