Amphenol Industrial Operations (AIO) is partnered with Eaxtron to design an arc-less, safe, effortless, and secure DIN charging connector for the modern logistics industry. Featuring a state-of-the-art female contact, the patented Vortex Clip™ significantly improves all aspects of the connection interface. Not only does the unique spiraling shape allow for more contact points, providing a higher rate of conductivity, but it also facilitates coupling with 80% less effort than the industry standard.
Amphenol Industrial Operations Eaxtron contacts are made from pure copper (Cu11 000) and plated with an industry-leading 6 µm of silver. The plating ensures minimal wear and tear on the contact. Even more important, the patented Vortex Clip significantly reduces coupling friction, further maximizing the lifetime of the contact. Polyamide material guarantees robust performance in even the toughest of working conditions. These flexible handles are highly durable, so users can avoid the most common cause and cost of early replacement: broken handles. By virtue of these innovations, the initial results of ongoing tests show that an AIO connector lasts up to 12,000 cycles.
Amphenol Industrial Operations' product has Eaxtron designed and patented locking mechanisms that work in conjunction with the user to provide an arc-less experience. Additionally, the unique design of the female contacts and durable housing nullifies all inevitable arcs. When the connector is load bearing the patented design manages and safely disperses arcs within the connector carriage. All this innovation allows the user to operate in a truly arc-less environment, with none of the risks traditionally posed to both individuals and equipment. The color-coded system prevents non-compatible connections by clearly classifying different voltages and applications by color.
Eaxtron connectors are available in multiple voltage ratings from 24 V to 80 V with color-coded cable clamps. Featuring two power contacts, with up to four signal pins. Amperage options range from 160 A, 320 A, and 430 A and can accept 1/0 AWG to 4/0 AWG cable sizes. The Eaxtron UL 1977 DIN charging connector is designed for, but is not limited to, applications within the material handling and industrial markets.
