CT455/CT456 Advanced Contactless Current Sensors

Allegro Microsystems CT455 and CT456 are cutting-edge contactless current sensors designed to deliver high accuracy and reliability in various consumer, enterprise, and industrial applications. Leveraging Allegro’s patented XtremeSense™ TMR technology, these sensors offer high bandwidth, low noise, superior magnetic sensitivity, low power consumption, and compact size, making them ideal for modern high-performance environments.

The CT455 is optimized for high dV/dt applications, providing accurate current measurements with a response time of less than 300 ns and a current consumption of approximately 6.0 mA. It supports two standard field ranges and offers a user-programmable variant for end-of-line calibration of gain and offset.

The CT456 is designed for differential current sensing with common mode field rejection, making it ideal for motor control applications. It supports six field ranges and achieves a total error output of less than 1.0% overvoltage and temperature. The CT456 also features effective common mode rejection of more than -50 dB, ensuring high immunity to stray magnetic fields and maintaining measurement accuracy.

Both sensors are housed in industry-standard 8-lead, and RoHS compliant SOIC and TSSOP packages, ensuring environmental sustainability.
