CZ-370x Current Sensors

AKM's coreless current sensor offers a wide current-detection range ideal for AC motors and general inverters

Corresponding to the UL safety standard UL61800-5-1 for industrial equipment, AKM has developed the CZ-370x series coreless current sensor which achieves both creepage distance and clearance distance greater than 8 mm. It supports a working voltage of 400 VRMS (with reinforced insulation), making insulation design easy. With its ultra-high accuracy, the CZ-370x series can be used for many applications including AC motors and power conditioners.

The CZ-370x series has a low resistance of 0.27 mΩ as the primary conductor resistance with AKM's original package. As a result, compared to shunt resistors and similar products of other companies, heat generation when applying the current can be greatly suppressed, and 60 ARMS continuous current can be applied. Furthermore, availability with wide current detection ranges from ±5.3 APP (CZ-3700) to ±180 APP (CZ-3706) are achieved. This enables the adoption of a common design of system boards, making it easy to roll it out to other models with different ratings.

In addition, it is suitable for a sensor signal input to a 5 V A/D converter in a 5 V input system. It has a built-in stray magnetic field reduction function, a challenge for conventional coreless current sensors, contributing to the improvement of system efficiency and precise control in a wide range of applications.
