ABLIC’s automotive LDO solves the DC/DC drawbacks for applications that operate intermittently rather than constantly
The ABLIC Inc. S-19246 series LDO, which is capable of 2 A output, is the ideal power supply for communication modules such as the V2X or TCU whose current requirements vary. When 2 A output current becomes necessary, a DC/DC converter is usually called for, however, a DC/DC converter comes with many drawbacks. The large external component count for the DC/DC circuit requires an increase in the board space needed and introduces switching noise that impacts communications. The S-19246 series LDO solves the DC/DC drawbacks for applications like communication modules that operate intermittently rather than constantly.

Features
- Output voltage: 1.0 V to 6.0 V, selectable in 0.05 V steps
- Input voltage: 2.5 V to 10.0 V
- Output voltage accuracy: ±2.3% (TJ = -40°C to +105°C)
- Dropout voltage: 0.62 V typ. (3.0 V output product, at IOUT = 2,000 mA)
- Current consumption:
- During operation: 120 μA typ., 150 μA max. (TJ = -40°C to +150°C)
- During power-off: 0.1 μA typ., 4.5 μA max. (TJ = -40°C to +105°C)
- Output current: possible to output 2,000 mA (at VIN ≧ VOUT (s) + 1.0 V)
- Ripple rejection: 60 dB typ. (at f = 1.0 kHz)
- Built-in overcurrent protection circuit: limits overcurrent of output transistor
- Built-in thermal shutdown circuit: detection temperature +170°C typical
- Built-in soft-start circuit
