Hi-Contact™ Tube Liquid Cold Plates

Boyd's Hi-Contact tube liquid cold plates feature a joint-free continuous tube press-fit into an extruded aluminum plate. The patented geometry used in the process ensures the most tube-to-plate and tube-to-device contact possible, thereby reducing contact resistance between all three. To further increase the performance, a thermal epoxy is applied to the joint to provide a gap-free thermal interface between the tube and the plate.

Liquid cold plates are used throughout the industrial sector primarily for IGBT cooling, motor drives, power inversion and rectification, medical (RF devices and fluid delivery), as well as fuel cell and battery cooling. More cooling in the space of computer and networking equipment is also seen. Due to the improved efficiency of liquid cooling over air cooling, along with increased packaging densities, liquid cooling is rapidly growing in adoption due to lower equipment operating costs.
