158 Series Socket Assemblies and HF625 Series Round Conductor Flat Cables

DigiKey is expanding its extensive 3M value added-assembly program with ready-to-install IDC assemblies constructed with the 158 socket series, a 0.079” pitch (2.00 mm) connector system, and the HF625 series' round conductor flat cable halogen free polyolefin (PO), low smoke zero halogen (LSZH). Insulation advantages of LSZH insulation are the low smoke (IEC 61034-2:2005), and low toxicity of combustion gases (NF X 70-100-2:2006) reducing the risk to firefighters, and reducing the soot and corrosion damage to nearby equipment. Standard assemblies are available in 3" and 6" lengths and spans 10-, 14-, 16-, and 20-signal contacts. Single- and double-ended assemblies are available.

The 158 socket is a 2 mm pitch ribbon cable to PCB interconnects consists of an IDC-style cable mount socket (158 series).  3M's 158 series ribbon cable sockets platform is the only known product line in the industry to offer this combination of unique configurations:

• 30 µ" Au plating version with adhesive-backed cover for robust termination, improved strain relief, and discrete wire capability
• 30 µ" and 15 µ" Au version with a pre-assembled cover and packaged on 3M's innovative "sword pack" to enable higher speed termination operations versus traditional separated cover termination methods
• Available friction-latch configurations enable increased protection against accidental disconnect

The 3625 series cable from 3M is a round conductor flat cable that is zippable for branching or discrete termination in halogen-free PO insulation. The 28 AWG 7 strands, 36 AWG wire, on 0.039” (1.00 mm) pitch allows for mass termination to metric connectors. Provides flexibility and an extended product life. It is rated for 300 V and a broad operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C
