YAGEO, KEMET, and Pulse Electronics
YAGEO recently acquired KEMET and has brought its products into the YAGEO portfolio. YAGEO is now in a better position as a one-stop provider of passive electronic components as well as a wide variety of other products now available from KEMET and their May 2018 acquisition, Pulse Electronics. These components include:
- Capacitors: Before KEMET was brought into the YAGEO fold, YAGEO’s capacitor portfolio only included ceramics (both YAGEO and those from their acquisition for Pulse Electronics). Now, YAGEO has KEMET’s wide array of capacitor technologies which include polymer, tantalum, ceramic, film, and electrolytic capacitors under their roof.
- Resistors: Chip, through-hole, and arrays
- Circuit Protection: Gas discharge tubes, PTC resettable fuses, TVS (diodes, thyristors, varistors), and MOVs
- Inductors: Wirewound, toroidal, and multilayer
- Filters: Ferrite beads and chips, chokes, power entry filter modules, EMI/RFI filters, and ferrite disks and plates
- Radio Frequency (RF): Baluns, antennas, directional couplers, multiplexers, and power dividers/splitters
- Sensors: Current, gas, motion, light, proximity, temperature, and ultrasonic
- Transformers: Various types
- Relays: Automotive and signal relays
- Actuators: Piezoelectric
- Coaxial Cable Assemblies: RP-SMA, IPEX MHF4, SMA, and U.FL
- Connectors: Card edge, coax, D-Sub, keystone, modular jacks, pluggable, USB, DisplayPort, HDMI, FireWire
In addition to KEMET and Pulse, YAGEO has recently acquired Chilisin. Chilisin’s products include inductors (power and RF signal), EMI common-mode chokes, EMI ferrite beads, RF antennas, wireless power transfer components, LAN transformers, resistors, current sensors, and power modules. These products will soon be brought into the YAGEO family, further expanding the range of products they offer.
As can be seen by the breadth of products now offered under the YAGEO umbrella, designers in many markets can find the quality products they’re looking for in one place.
