TDK InvenSense ICP-10100 Barometric Pressure and Temperature Sensor

The first thing one notices about TDK’s ICP-10100 sensor is just how small it is. At 2 mm x 2 mm x 0.72 mm the 10-pin LGA package takes up minimal board space. Another interesting detail are the three tiny 0.025 mm holes in the top surface of the package. The reason for the holes is to provide the sensor with access to the atmosphere for measuring barometric pressure. The small diameter holes prevent water from entering which makes the sensor waterproof to a 1.5 meter depth for up to 30 minutes.

ICP-10100 Sensor

The DK-10100 is a low-cost development board used for rapid evaluation and development of ICP-10100-based solutions.

DK-10100 Development Board

Sensor Evaluation / Development

The DK-10100 is one member of a family of boards in TDK’s Invensense SmartMotion Platform. All boards are based on Microchip’s G55 Arm Cortex-M4-based microcontroller and include an onboard embedded debugger to minimize cost and simplify development. Software evaluation tools and sample applications are available for download on the TDK Invensense Developer website.

Sensor Integration

Supply voltage is 1.8 V and an I2C interface is used for communication between the sensor and host processor.
