Texas Instruments LDC0851 Switches | DigiKey Daily
Texas Instruments offers a close range inductive switch, the LDC0851, for event counting, presence detection, and simple buttons. Differentially compensated, this highly accurate inductive switch is triggered when a conductive object comes close to the sensing coil. Due to its contactless detection, the LDC0851 works well even in the presence of contaminants, making it ideal for harsh environments . As a solid state device, it does not suffer from the drawbacks of mechanical relays or switches nor does it require a magnet for actuation. Working within a wide negative 40 degrees Celsius to positive 125 degrees Celsius temperature range and consuming less than 20 microamps in operation and 140 nanoamps when shutdown, the LDC0851 works in a wide variety of applications.
