Recom presents their R-78HE-0.3 series of DC-to-DC switching regulators. This module series was specifically designed for 12-volt to 60-volt battery-powered applications, such as 36-volt to 48-volt lithium-ion applications, and 12, 24, and 48-volt lead-acid battery applications. The device offers an impressive input voltage range, from 6.5 to 72 volts, and can tolerate a 100-volt surge, meaning external voltage clamping circuits aren’t required and a simple LC filter is all that’s needed for Class A and B EMC conformity. Other features include an operating temperature range from minus 40 to 105 degrees Celsius, an efficiency rating of up to 83 percent, short circuit and overcurrent protections, and a small SIP3 module package. Suitable applications include IoT and industrial IoT devices, and other industrial equipment.
