NTCLE317 Fast Reacting, Very-Low Thermal-Gradient Thermistor
Vishay's thermistor is suited for applications where small bead size with tight temperature accuracy is required
The PEEK-insulated NiFe alloy conductor wires of Vishay's NTCLE317 offer a very low thermal conductivity. When the component measures a hot-spot inside a temperature probe, no heat is dissipated to the surrounding environment through the wires. It will sense the real temperature within ±0.5°C, unlike other components with more thermally conductive wires (like copper) which can deviate by several degrees. This can be characterized by a gradient measurement of less than 10 mK/K. The small size of the bead provides a response time in-air of fewer than three seconds. The PEEK insulator of the lead wire has good adhesion with epoxy (unlike Teflon, for example) and will improve the behavior of the components in high-humidity conditions (+85°C with 85% relative humidity). As NTCLE317 is also 100% compliant to AEC-Q200 with a maximal use temperature of 150°C, it is the ideal choice for any automotive application (thermally and electrically). The outstanding accuracy and enhanced speed of response make the NTCLE317 a great fit for industrial applications like boiler temperature sensors, fire and smoke detection, or seat warmers in cars. The NTCLE317 is RoHS compliant without any exemption.
