Vishay miniature NTC immersion sensors are primarily suitable for fluid immersion temperature-sensing applications, especially when accuracy and fast time response are necessary. These sensors can also be found in applications that require hotspot temperature monitoring within a housed environment. The off-the-shelf miniature NTC immersion sensors incorporate a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor mounted in a 316L high-grade stainless-steel housing with a Pb-free brass collar for sealed mounting with electrical connection via two insulated AWG#22 PEX lead wires. The small housing tip dimensions and thin insulated lead wire construction reduce the thermal gradient, making for a more accurate temperature measurement. The sensor can be mounted by means of a sealing O-ring and screw or by being clasped or molded into place. The end wire can be soldered or crimped to a connector. In addition to the off-the-shelf version, the miniature NTC immersion sensors provide the designer with flexibility through electrical and mechanical customization options together with connector addition possibilities.
