LENA-R8 Series LTE Cat 1bis Modules

u-blox's LENA-R8 series cellular LTE Cat 1bis modules feature uncompromised global connectivity and reliable performance in a compact package. The modules feature a comprehensive certification scheme, versatile interfaces, and multi-band and multi-mode capabilities, making them ideally suited for use in a broad range of applications, including telematics, tracking, digital health, alarm panels, metering, and point-of-sale applications.

The LENA-R8 series modules offer simple global LTE Cat 1bis connectivity with 14 LTE bands and four 2G bands in the compact LENA LGA form factor (30 mm x 27 mm, 100-pin). With broadband support and fallback to 2G networks, the modules provide the best possible roaming coverage and make global tracking with a single product SKU possible.

The modules are highly integrated, providing out-of-the-box support for MQTT Anywhere and MQTT Flex services on the u-blox Thingstream platform, enabling seamless global roaming. The modules also support CellLocate, a network-based cellular location service.

The LENA-R8001M10 includes an integrated GNSS receiver based on the u-blox M10 platform, supporting concurrent reception of four GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou). The cellular modem and GNSS subsystems are designed with two separate power supplies, providing enhanced flexibility on power management, thus reducing the total power consumption, and are accessible via dedicated interfaces for large usage flexibility.

The EVK-R8 kits are powerful and easy-to-use tools that simplify the evaluation of u-blox LENA-R8 series multi-mode LTE Cat 1bis / 2G cellular modules. ADP-R8 adapter boards are also available for added evaluation.
