Fox and Hound HotWire™ Wire Tone and Probe Kit

Triplett's Fox and Hound HotWire wire tone and probe kit consists of a fox RF transmitter and the hound tone receiver. This kit helps trace wires like those used in power lines, cable television, telephone, low-voltage landscape lighting, and shallow underground wires. Triplett’s TrueTrace technology provides positive identification of the wire being traced through common building materials such as wood, plaster, drywall, concrete, brick, metal conduit, and other materials. It comes complete with test leads (24" and 60"), flat blades, pointed probes, alligator clips, a hard carrying case, and two 9 V batteries.

The HotWire fox applies a radio frequency (RF) and an audio frequency (AFT) signal through the wire. The signal propagates down the wire radiating the signal along the length of the wire that is sensed by the Triplett hound as well as other Triplett hound models such as the Hound 2, Hound 3, or Hound Jr.

The HotWire hound senses the location and strength of the signal and identifies the path of the wire to the user. The hound can generate a signal up to 1,000 feet for the targeted wire with a loud audible toner with a selectable pulse or warble tone that can be heard in the noisiest of environments.
