4 kW Bridgeless Totem-Pole PFC Evaluation Board

Transphorm features the TDTTP4000W066C 4 kW bridgeless totem-pole power factor correction (PFC) evaluation board. Greater than 99 percent efficiency single-phase AC/DC power conversion is achieved with the TP65H035G4WS, a diode-free normally-off gallium nitride (GaN) FET with low reverse-recovery charge. Using Transphorm GaN FETs in the fast-switching leg of the circuit and low resistance MOSFETs in the slow-switching leg of the circuit results in improved performance and efficiency.

This evaluation board integrates a Microchip dsPIC33CK digital signal controller (DSC) board with pre-programmed firmware off the shelf that is backed by Microchip’s global technical support team along with Transphorm’s application support capabilities. With the DSC comes free use of Microchip’s embedded design tools within the intuitive MPLAB® X Integrated Development Environment.

NOTE: The pre-programmed dsPIC power integrated module (PIM) is also available to engineers currently working with Transphorm’s prior generation 4 kW totem-pole PFC board, the TDTTP4000W066B-KIT. The TDTTP-dsPIC-Converter-Card pairs with the MA330048 (Microchip’s dsPIC33CK256 PIM) to modify the older board.
