CC2745R10-Q1 Automotive SimpleLink™ Bluetooth® 6.0 LE

Texas Instruments SimpleLink CC274xR-Q1 AEC-Q100-compliant wireless microcontrollers (MCUs) are designed for automotive applications, supporting Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4. These devices are optimized for low-power wireless communication, making them ideal for car access systems such as passive entry/passive start (PEPS), phone as a key (PaaK), and remote keyless entry (RKE). They offer extensive support for Bluetooth 5.4 features, including LE Coded PHY (long range), LE 2M PHY (high speed), advertising extensions, and multiple advertisement sets while maintaining compatibility with earlier Bluetooth LE versions. These devices include Bluetooth Channel Sounding technology and an Algorithm Processing Unit (APU) for high-accuracy, secure, and low-cost phase-based ranging for distance estimation. The APU also optimizes the execution of signal processing algorithms like FFT and advanced methods such as MUSIC.

The CC274xR-Q1 provides enhanced security features, including a secure hardware security module (HSM) environment for cryptographic operations, random number generation, and trusted execution. They support secure boot and firmware updates with a root of trust enabled by immutable system ROM and include secure key storage capabilities using TrustZone-M and HSM. Hardware fault sensors mitigate low-cost, non-invasive physical attacks, while a dedicated AES-128 hardware accelerator ensures efficient encryption and decryption for timing-critical link-layer operations.

These devices are designed for ultra-low power consumption, featuring low standby current with 162 KB SRAM retention and RTC operation, significantly extending battery life for applications with long sleep intervals. They support extended temperature ranges while maintaining excellent standby power efficiency. An integrated BALUN and RF switch simplifies board design and reduces the bill of materials (BOM), while robust radio sensitivity and performance ensure reliable Bluetooth Low Energy operation.
