SPM Power Inductors

As electronic devices become more and more advanced, the need for high-performance power components increases. TDK offers a large selection of SPM series power inductors to meet this need. SPM inductors are available in various types, including high current, low profile, and AEC-Q200 compliant types for automotive applications. SPM power inductors are metal composite type wound inductors that feature coils integrally molded with metallic magnetic powder. Compared to ferrite-based wire wound inductors, SPM series inductors are able to offer larger current, lower Rdc, smaller size, and superior DC bias characteristics.

SPM-CT Power Inductors

SPM-CT Power Inductors with High Q / High Frequency Specifications

TDK's SPM-CT series are magnetically shielded, wire wound inductors for power circuits. Compared to conventional SPM series product, the SPM-CT type offers high Q characteristics in the high frequency region, thanks to use of a proprietary alloy powder. They also offer large current specifications, low Rdc, and compactness compared to ferrite wound type inductors. SPM-CT inductors have lower hum noise compared to the core adhesive coils. This is made possible with the use of metallic magnetic material and an integrated molded coil structure. Sizes range from 7.1 x 6.5 x 5 mm to 13.0 x 12.5 x 6.5 mm with an inductance range of 220 nH to 500 nH with ±15-20% inductance tolerance. They are available for use in applications such as wireless charging, noebook PCs, HDDs, servers, VRMs, and more.

Features

  • Magnetic shield type wound inductor for power circuits using a metallic magnetic material
  • Achieve large current, low Rdc, and compactness compared to ferrite wound type inductors
