
Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) in Industrial Applications
TDK provides a comprehensive range of inductive components tailored for Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) based on the IEEE 802.3cg standard (10BASE-T1L). These components ensure reliable, interference-free data transmission and efficient power delivery over a single twisted pair—critical in modern industrial environments.
To suppress asymmetrical interference and maintain clean data traffic, TDK’s RCM70CGI-471 common-mode choke is an ideal solution. It features a 470 µH inductance and supports currents up to 700 mA at 80 V.
In applications requiring galvanic isolation between the PHY and connector, the ICI70CGI Isolation inductors offers robust performance with a 1:1 transformation ratio and inductance options of 1.0 mH or 2.2 mH.
For systems using Power over Data Line (PoDL)—which combines power and data over a single wire pair—differential-mode chokes are essential to suppress system interference. TDK’s PID series meets this need, supporting all six IEEE 802.3cg PoDL power classes (10–15).
