MPZ Series Automotive Chip Beads

TDK’s MPZ series AEC-Q200-compliant chip beads are noise-reducing solutions that are designed for automotive powerline applications. Compared to the MMZ series signal line chip beads, the MPZ series offer low direct current resistance, making them compatible with large currents and optimal for lower power consumption. The MPZ chip beads are available in a variety of case sizes and materials with dimensions ranging from 1.0 mm x 0.5 mm to 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm (L x W) and up to five materials with different frequency characteristics for countermeasures against general to high-speed signals.

The MPZ2520SPH series features one of the industry’s highest-rated currents of 12 A in a small 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm package. Generally, large currents require larger chip beads (at least 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm) or multiple chip beads of less than 12 A in a parallel configuration. Using a single MPZ2520SPH chip bead saves mounting space and the serial configuration of a single product helps to stabilize the applied current. TDK's original pattern configuration and optimum materials achieve an extremely high current rating in a compact size.
