Conductive resin suppresses cracking, which can occur from stress deflection of the substrate, temperature cycling, and thermal shock. Low equivalent series resistance (ESR) achieves superior noise absorption characteristics. Compared to tantalum or aluminum electrolytic capacitor counterparts, soft termination MLCCs provide higher permissible ripple current values, smaller case size with high rated voltage and higher insulation resistance, and breakdown voltage which equates to improved reliability.

Soft termination MLCCs from TAIYO YUDEN are an effective solution for applications that require resistance to board flex and cracking. Soft termination MLCCs are AEC-Q200 qualified for automotive and industrial applications.
