Si86Sx Family Robust Digital Isolators

Skyworks' family of robust, high-speed, low-power multi-channel digital isolators are CMOS devices offering substantial data rate, propagation delay, power, size, reliability, and external BOM advantages over legacy isolation technologies. All device versions have CMOS thresholds and Schmitt trigger inputs for high noise immunity and only require V_DD bypass capacitors. Data rates up to 150 Mbps are supported, and all devices achieve typical propagation delays of 10 ns.

The Si86S60x options are isolated solutions for I²C and SMBus serial port applications. All devices in this family include bidirectional SDA and/or SCL channels with open-drain, 35 mA sink capability that operate to a maximum frequency of 1.7 MHz. Some options also offer additional unidirectional channels for system signals such as Reset or Interrupt.

The Si86S61x-6x family of one- to six-channel devices are robust, low-power digital isolators. Ordering options include a choice of isolation ratings (2.5 kV_RMS to 6.0 kV_RMS), deglitch filter, default high or low output, and various channel configurations including inverting outputs on dual channel devices. Enable inputs provide a single point of control for enabling and disabling outputs.

The Si86SLx/Mx family of quad-channel devices are robust, lower-power digital isolators. These products have a sleep mode (Mx options) that helps conserve power by shutting down active circuits when enabled. Low-power mode operation options (Lx) are optimized for saving power at all times. Ordering options include a choice of isolation ratings (2.5kV_RMS to 6.0 kV_RMS), default output state during power loss, and various channel configurations.

The Si86SSx/SQx options are robust, low-power digital isolators that are specially designed with features for isolating an SPI bus (SSx) or QSPI bus (SQx) with a direction control pin. Ordering options include a choice of isolation ratings (2.5 kV_RMS to 6.0kV_RMS) and default output state during power loss.

All products are safety certified by UL, CSA, VDE, and CQC. Products in wide-body packages support voltages of 6.0kV_RMS with 1 minute withstand capability per UL 1577. These products are certified to the latest IEC 60747-17 (pending) reinforced specification and can be safely used in high-power applications like inverters and motor drives. Automotive Grade is available. These products are built using automotive-specific flows at all steps in the manufacturing process to ensure the robustness and low defectivity required for automotive applications.
