Seeed’s SenseCAP line of products is designed for serving Industrial IoT needs in the areas of smart agriculture, smart cities, and smart forestry, as well as other environmental sensing scenarios. This entire line of products is IP66 rated and encapsulated in UV resistant cases to ensure robustness, useful in outdoor applications. Using the LoRaWAN® protocol, this line of products has the capability of wireless transmission of data across ultra-wide distances of 9.6 km (5.96 miles) in light of sight applications and 2 km (1.24 miles) in urban applications.
The SenseCAP LoRaWAN Gateway is a great solution for remote sensor monitoring. With three different options for powering the sensor hub, including wall power, solar power, or rechargeable battery power, it is capable of working with higher power consumption sensors such as an ammonia sensor. The gateway is carrier grade and has the capability of working with up to 1,000 sensors simultaneously. This capability makes it a great option for gathering data from multiple sensors across a large area, such as a farm field, neighborhood, or farmstead.
The SenseCAP series has several different sensor nodes available to work with the LoRaWAN Gateway. The 7-in-1 compact weather station features sensors capable of measuring air temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, light intensity, rainfall (optical), wind speed, and wind direction (ultrasonic). Also included in this series are soil moisture and temperature sensor nodes, air temperature and humidity sensor nodes, light intensity sensor nodes, barometric pressure sensor nodes, and CO2 sensor nodes. With the number and types of sensor nodes available and more sensor nodes being developed, the SenseCAP series should be considered for all the users’ environmental monitoring needs.
