Sanyo Denki created the counter-rotating form factor in 2001, and it has since been widely adopted by the fan industry. Their counter-rotating fans feature an inlet and outlet fan that rotate in opposite directions, with the fan speeds optimized to squeeze every last bit of pressure head from the resulting flow. Customers can also control the fan duty cycle using pulse width modulation (PWM) and monitor fan speeds with a tachometer output. They are the ideal solution for enclosures that are packed with components.
