RAA489118 and RAA489400 USB-PD Extended Power Range Solution

Renesas USB-PD EPR solution includes two products: the Type-C port controller RAA489400 and the buck-boost battery charger RAA489118. The RAA489400 supports USB-PD VBUS power up to 48 V/5 A, while the RAA489118 is a 7S battery charger with a 30 V input voltage. The RAA489118 supports a broad range of input and output voltages, making it versatile for use with different voltages of battery packs and with various PD adapters. Both RAA489400 and RAA489118 come with built-in protection mechanisms against overcharging, overheating, and voltage anomalies, contributing to the safety and longevity of the battery and device. Additionally, the solution enables power to be transferred bi-directionally from the source to the load and vice versa.
