Artificial Intelligence (AI) Kit

Raspberry Pi’s AI kit will make the Raspberry Pi 5 even more powerful with the integration of AI technology. The Raspberry Pi AI kit includes an M.2 HAT+, a Hailo AI acceleration module, a16 mm stackable header, a mounting hardware kit, and a pre-fitted thermal pad that fits between the module and the M.2 HAT+. The Hailo AI module allows high-performance AI integration with the Raspberry Pi 5 at 13 tera-operations per second (TOPS) thanks to the Hailo-8L chip. The module has the M.2 2242 form factor and comes pre-installed in the M.2 Hat+.

Raspberry Pi 5 computers that are running a current OS image will automatically detect the Hailo module and enable the neural processing unit (NPU) for AI computing. Built-in rpicam-apps camera applications in Raspberry Pi’s operating systems support the AI module and will automatically use the NPU to run compatible post-processing tasks.
