PNJ4K01F Ambient Light Sensor

Panasonic introduces the PNJ4K01F analog ambient light sensors with built-in photodiode and current amplifier circuit

Image of Panasonic's PNJ4K01F Ambient Light SensorPanasonic, a worldwide leader in semiconductor products, is pleased to introduce the PNJ4K01F. Featuring a built-in photodiode and current amplifier circuit, this sensor allows for automatic-control of display luminosity relative to ambient brightness. With a spectral response similar to that of the human eye, it’s possible to design brightness control schemes that are tuned for optimal human sensitivity. This, along with a small-package size and low-power consumption, makes the PNJ4K01F ideal for applications in mobile electronics.

Features
  • Ultra-small, thin profile package
  • Low-operating voltage (1.4 V Min.)
  • Spectral sensitivity similar to the human eye
  • RoHS/REACH compliant
Benefits
  • Can be used in small applications
  • Can be used with a 1.8 V power supply
  • Wide-application range
  • Does not discriminate between fluorescent and incandescent lighting
