IR OSLON Black Infrared LED

The IR OSLON Black family of ams OSRAM are compact infrared LEDs in many power levels up to 10 W optical output power. The small package with integrated lens allows superior compact arrangements of very high power density. The IR OSLON Black is perfect for applications like CCTV, machine vision, night vision, or number plate recognition systems.

Stacked power

With the IR OSLON Black, ams OSRAM has set a benchmark in the field of infrared illumination and complements its range of products with an additional power class. By using the Nanostack chip technology, the typical optical power reaches bursts of 10 W at an operating current of 5 A and more than 2 W optical power at 1.5 A operating current.

Efficiency wizard

The single junction DC-operation-optimized versions of the OSLON Black deliver state-of-the-art efficient operation at typical operation currents of 1 A but can be operated up to 2 A DC and deliver 1.5 W optical output power at these maximum ratings. This makes battery and heat management much easier to engineer.

Compact package

Thanks to its adapted out-coupling lens with ±25°, ±45°, or ±75° emission angle, the IR OSLON delivers 15 percent more output power than components without a lens. The temperature-stable, small package allows compact arrangements for a very high power density.

Long lifetime

The IR OSLON Black is the perfect combination of the latest chip technology and an excellent package. Lifetimes of up to 50,000 hours are easily obtainable, even at high driving currents.
