Image of New Scale Technology M3-F Focus Modules New Scale Technologies' M3-F focus module is the solution for instrument designers who need to embed focusing optics in their smaller, next-generation instruments. The module delivers the precision motion of standard lenses (M8 to M12) with high position resolution and repeatability.

The built-in 3.3 V controller accepts high-level commands from the instrument's system controller using a standard I²C or SPI digital serial interface. By eliminating the need to design an external control board, the M3-F focus module lets designers minimize system size and speed product development.

The total module size is only 20 mm x 22 mm x 16 mm including the controller.

The developer's kit includes an M3-F focus module and a USB adapter that can be plugged into a PC. It includes New Scale Pathway™ software to easily evaluate the module using an intuitive graphical user interface and to validate embedded software. Users can interface directly with the module via its serial interface for prototyping.
