BK-877 Ultra-Lightweight Battery Retainer for Use with CR2450

MPD's BK-877 battery retainers offer a narrower width than other competing designs and an ultra-low acquisition cost. The lithium battery retainers feature large SMD leads that provide exceptional reflow. The BK-877 is made of nickel-plated phosphor bronze which has superb spring qualities including ideal elasticity, high fatigue, corrosion resistance, a wide temperature range, and nonmagnetic materials. The bifurcated contacts are optimized to keep a tight connection with the battery and provide low electrical resistance. These retainers are shock and vibration resistant per EIA-364 assuring designers of trouble-free use in coin-cell applications.

The narrow width makes it easy to change cells without tools or instructions. These coin-cell retainers require a conductive pad on the PCB surface directly beneath the battery to create a contact point for the battery’s negative terminal. MPD offers an assortment of negative contacts for many typical applications.

Typical lithium coin-cells used in the BK-877 retainers include the CR2450 cells, BR2450, and DL2450 batteries. Rechargeable types include the ML2450, VL2450, and LIR2450 batteries.
