REDEL P Series Plastic Circular Push-Pull Connectors

LEMO's REDEL P series circular plastic push-pull self-latching connectors are the benchmark for medical connectivity. They provide a secure mechanical connection with an audible click when mated, offer multiple mechanical keying options to avoid cross-mating, seven color options, and standard and reverse gender configurations. The Polyetherimide (PEI) housing material can withstand steam sterilization and resists the common sterilization methods required for multiple uses. Disposable options are available for electrophysiology (EP) catheters. They can incorporate EEPROMs for storing serialization, cycle count, and equipment parameter setup information directly into the connector. Disposable receptacles can either snap-fit directly into the customer’s handpiece, minimizing assembly costs, or attach to a cable by an optional backshell.

Machined brass and bronze electrical contacts offer highly reliable and repeatable performance and are gold-plated over hard nickel. Solder, crimp, or printed circuit board (PCB) contacts can be selected for best application fit and are rated for at least 2000 mating cycles. Options for increased creepage and clearance distances are available for RF ablation and pulsed field ablation (PFA) applications. Combining two or more different contact elements into a single connector can simplify the operation of equipment. Contact elements such as low voltage, high voltage, fiber optics, thermocouple, coaxial, and even pneumatics or fluidics with or without shutoff can be customized to meet specific requirements.

The durable, lightweight plastic housings offer weight savings and have been used in critical wearable medical applications such as left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) and wearable defibrillators.

Most connector models are UL and CSA Recognized under LEMO’s UL file number E119802, which can aid in approving the overall system, and are RoHS and REACH compliant. LEMO is ISO 90001 and 13485 certified.
