250 VAC AC Rated Capacitors CAN series (Industrial Grade)

KEMET's CAN series are AC rated ceramic capacitors designed for 250 V_AC applications where higher capacitance/voltage (CV) values are required but not available in safety certified MLCCs. These capacitors are qualified for continuous use under AC line conditions of 250 V_AC, 50/60 Hz. Available in a variety of case sizes and excellent CV values, these devices exhibit low leakage current and low ESR at high frequencies. With a working voltage of 250 V_AC in line-to-line (Class X) and 250 V_AC in line-to-ground (Class Y) applications, these safety capacitors meet the impulse test criteria outlined in IEC Standard 60384. Meeting subclass X1 and Y2 requirements, these devices are certified to withstand impulses up to 5 kV (X1/Y2) and 2.5 kV (X2), respectively.

For added reliability, KEMET's flexible termination technology is an available option that provides superior flex performance over standard termination systems. This series is available in X7R and C0G dielectrics. X7R exhibits a predictable change in capacitance with respect to time and voltage and boasts a minimal change in capacitance with reference to ambient temperature. C0G exhibits no change in capacitance with respect to time and voltage and boasts a negligible change in capacitance with reference to ambient temperature. CAN series is specifically designed and tested for 50/60 Hz line frequencies and other non-safety critical applications.
