18021 Series Floating Bottom-Entry Socket
IRISO's socket features a floating self-alignment feature accommodating multiple connector pairs in one pair of PCBs
Iriso's 18021 series features a floating bottom-entry socket for the pin header with a pitch of 2.54 mm and a 0.64 mm mating pin. The bottom-entry mating structure is suitable for stacking PCBs. Shifting from a connector with a manual soldering process to this connector allows the reduction of the soldering process and the increase of contact reliability.
This series features IRISO’s proprietary Z-Move™ technology which is designed to accommodate the motion that causes fretting contacts. The mated contact is often damaged by fretting caused by resonated PCBs vibration. Z-Move terminals are designed to keep steady contact.
Also featured in this series is a floating/self-alignment function. This allows for a mating positional error of ±0.5 mm nominal in the X and Y directions for assembly. The connector allows ±0.5 mm floating in the X and Y directions and ±0.4 mm in the Z direction which accommodates multiple connector pairs in one pair of PCBs.
