Infineon's TLE4973 is a high-precision miniature coreless magnetic sensor suitable for AC and DC measurement. This sensor operates at 5 V, providing an analog output proportional to the magnetic field measured and a very fast overcurrent detection output. The sensor is equipped with a digital control and diagnostic interface (DCDI) that provides temperature readout, safety status readout, read/write programming access to internal EEPROM, and control of diagnosis mode. Infineon’s well-established and robust monolithic Hall technology enables accurate and highly linear measurement of the magnetic field caused by the current. With a measurement range of up to ±34 mT, this sensor can sense currents up to 2 kA without negative effects, such as hysteresis and saturation, that are commonly associated with core-based sensors.
