CSSV Series Advanced Fluxgate Current Sensor
Honeywell's CSSV series current sensor is designed to meet the highest standards of quality and safety for electric vehicle applications
Honeywell's CSSV series current sensor combines fluxgate and open-loop Hall effect technologies to achieve high accuracy, low power consumption, and Automotive Safety Integrity Level C (ASIL-C) compliance for safety-critical applications. These sensors can measure ±1500 A of current in battery management systems for electrified vehicles and other industries. The CSSV series offers a non-intrusive and electrically isolated sensing method that is robust to magnetic interference and stable over temperature performance.
Current sensors are used in multiple electric vehicle applications, such as current sensing in battery management systems (BMS), battery disconnect units (BDU), power distribution units (PDU) for overcurrent protection, battery health monitoring, system control and safety, energy efficiency, and fault detection and isolation.
The CSSV series current sensor is designed to meet the highest standards of quality and safety for electric vehicle applications. The sensor is certified by ASIL-C, the second-highest level of ASIL for functional safety assessment. This means that the sensor has a low probability of failure and high fault tolerance in case of a malfunction. The sensor also complies with CE, UKCA, REACH, and RoHS certifications, which ensure that the sensor meets the environmental and health requirements of the European Union and the United Kingdom. Additionally, the CSSV sensor may be customized to best meet specific application needs. Solutions may be tailored to exact specifications for improved time to market, lower total system costs, and enhanced reliability.
