CSHV Series Open Loop Current Sensors

Honeywell's CSHV series are open loop current sensors that use Hall effect and patented Honeywell technology to bring an excellent combination of performance and reliability for current sensing applications. These products are non-intrusive and electrically isolated from the monitored circuit, ensuring a simple sensing method. They are rated for a primary current measurement range of ±100 A_DC to ±1500 A_DC.

Current sensors are used in multiple electric vehicle applications, such as current sensing in battery management systems (BMS), battery disconnect units (BDU), power distribution units (PDU), fault detection, and isolation. Accurate current sensing enables a precise battery state measurement for improved user experience. Honeywell’s CSHV series current sensor has a fast response time that allows fault detection and asset protection before a catastrophic failure. The analog voltage output may be used by BMS.

The CSHV series uses AEC-Q100 qualified components to meet higher quality and reliability. For motor control applications, the current measurement is directly proportional to the motor torque. Current measurement can also be used to determine the speed at which the motor is turning. Such speed information can be calculated by understanding how the control algorithm affects the current level.

The CSHV series has CE and UKCA certifications and may be customized to best meet specific application needs for improved time to market, lower total system costs, and enhanced reliability.
