Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Adapters and Power Supplies

GlobTek's Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) adapter supplies power to network devices over standard Category 5e (Cat 5 or better) cabling that carries the data. Devices can be installed wherever structured Ethernet wiring is located without the need for AC power outlets nearby.

The benefits of PoE include increased mobility for end devices, added safety (no high-voltage AC power involved), simplicity of installation, reliability, security, and cost savings. GlobTek's desktop and hybrid wall plug-in/desktop PoE injectors, also known as power sourcing equipment (PSE) or midspans, offer compliance to the IEEE802.3ax standards governing the product in this space, as well as international regulatory approvals for most countries and regions such as UL60950 and UL62368, their European equivalents, Russia EAC, and compliance to many Asian countries such as Japan PSE and China CCC.

These products also use patented technology to comply with US DOE EPS 2.0 Level VI efficiency requirements which are also mandated in Canada, Europe, and parts of Asia. GlobTek provides both active and passive PoE solutions. Active PoE refers to power supplies that are fully compliant with the IEEE802.3ax spec whereas passive refers to power supplies not compliant with the IEEE802.3ax standards and simply provide 48 V power into RJ45 connectors.
