PTM 215U 902 MHz Pushbutton Transmitter Module

EnOcean’s pushbutton transmitter module (PTM) enables the implementation of wireless remote controls without batteries. A built-in electro-dynamic power generator provides the power. A bow that can be pushed from outside the module on the left or right by an appropriate pushbutton or switch rocker actuates the electro-dynamic energy transducer. Pushing down the energy bow harvests electrical energy and transmits an RF telegram, including the module ID. The PTM telegram contains the information that the bow was pressed or released. In addition, the radio telegram transmits the operating status of four contact nipples when activating the bow, enabling the identification of up to two appropriate switch rockers or up to four single pushbuttons. By measurement of the time between the push and the release telegram, the receiver can easily implement applications’ dimming or shutter control.

An additional encryption mode can be activated. Telegrams are encrypted via a combination of rolling code and AES128 algorithm. The PTM 215 includes an additional NFC interface for commissioning via an NFC capable smartphone or PC application.
