W3G200/W3G250 Series EC Axial Fans

The ebm-papst W3G200 and W3G250 models provide energy savings and performance control in an 80 mm deep by 225 mm square or 280 mm square compact axial fan. They have been longtime favorites for their durability, solid construction, and efficient permanent split capacitor (PSC) motor with pre-wired motor run capacitor. Now these same compact axial fan packages are available with improved efficiency and controllability supplied by an electronically commutated (EC), permanent magnet, brushless DC motor.

Still operating from a 115 V_AC or 230 V_AC supply, the EC motor offers a substantial improvement in efficiency over the PSC version. Motor speed control capability allows the user to exactly match changing performance requirements in the application and adds another potent method for reducing power and acoustic noise. Speed control is handled through a simple 0 to 10 V_DC control signal to the motor. A 10 V_DC output is even supplied by the EC motor. For added efficiency, but not speed control, jumper the 10 V_DC output to the control signal input for a fixed maximum speed.
