DFR115-915 and DFR115-868 Gravity LoRaWAN Node Modules
DFRobot modules offer 4 km of range for IoT, agriculture, and Arduino/graphical programming and support LoRaWAN networking and LoRa PP2P communication
DFRobot DFR115-915 and DFR115-868 Gravity LoRaWAN node modules are a compact, easy-to-integrate wireless communication solution tailored for long-distance, low-power, outdoor IoT scenarios. Based on the SX1262 chip and LoRa modulation technology, it operates in the US915 frequency band (also applicable to EU868 in other versions) and supports both LoRa point-to-point and LoRaWAN networking. With an effective urban transmission range of up to 1.5 km and 4.5 km in open environments (EU868 effective coverage: 1.2 km in urban areas, 4 km in open areas), it enables reliable, wide-area data transmission without the need for traditional wired infrastructure. Ideal for agriculture, environmental monitoring, and industrial sensing projects.
The module supports flexible switching between LoRa and LoRaWAN protocols. In LoRaWAN mode it supports both Class A and Class C operation, and can be integrated into networks like The Things Network (TTN) and ChirpStack via ABP or OTAA activation methods.
Equipped with an onboard PCB antenna and LoRa technology, the module provides an effective transmission range. The module ensures stable and reliable communication across large outdoor areas, overcoming limitations of Wi-Fi or 4G in power consumption and range.
LoRa modulation technology allows for ultra-low power operation, significantly extending the battery life of remote sensor nodes compared to Wi-Fi or cellular-based solutions, making it suitable for long-term deployment in power-constrained environments.
No low-level protocol development is required. The module integrates a complete LoRa/LoRaWAN protocol stack and supports Arduino IDE, Mind+, and MakeCode graphical programming environments. They are compatible with micro:bit, Arduino, ESP32, and other 3.3 V/5 V development boards. Standard I2C and UART interfaces simplify hardware integration.
