These axial and blower fans are built to operate within and withstand the harsh forces of ever-changing conditions on the road such as wide-ranging and often extreme temperatures along with humidity, and shock from various sources.

Though automotive applications may vary widely, the core requirements gravitate towards three major areas. The first requires higher and wider operating voltages and temperatures ranging from -40°C to above +85°C. Each fan is designed to be deployed in different vehicle applications to maximize compatibility. The second requires that not only decibel rating, but sound quality and low vibration be maintained within an acceptable range. This varies based on customer requirements, but the goal is to ensure that the fans do not disturb passengers in a vehicle. The third and final most common core requirement involves subjecting the fan to various environmental tests. These range from thermal shock, humidity, solid and liquid ingress resistance, and more to ensure that the fans are built to endure forces that may be potentially or commonly are involved during vehicle operation.

Traditional car seating systems provide either passive benefits via design and material choices or active heating. Newer, more robust systems focus on cooling and overall comfort via temperature regulation. The purpose of these fans comprises several design choices that lend to them having high performance, low vibration, reduced operating noise, improved sound quality, EMC protection, IP protection, and PWM speed control. Each of these plays a role in how an end user might accept or reject the overall seat ventilation system. Years of development and working with partners has enabled Delta to offer this purpose-driven fan line to power seat airflow with all these characteristics tuned to the needs of the user while providing both push and pull functionality to properly regulate airflow as a key aspect of comfort. All of which can help drivers and their passengers reduce their fatigue over short or long journeys.
