CML Micro's DE9180-2 kit demonstrates, in a portable radio form factor, all the features of the DRM1000 including reception from 150 KHz to 108 MHz of AM, FM, and digital radio mondiale (DRM) signals. Powered from either a 5 V supply or three off-primary cell batteries, the kit can support a variety of antenna and test equipment connections and can be used to fully test the DRM1000 receiver's performance. Receiver power consumption, sensitivity, selectivity, and signal handling can all be checked. In addition, the DE9180-2 allows evaluation of the DRM1000 push-button-based user interface. An onboard serial data connection allows full control by a connected PC or external µController. The DRM1000 supports customization of provided features via a persistent-stored registry. The serial connection allows the persistent-stored memory to be read and modified to suit the user's intended feature set. Additional support includes access to a Python-based command line tool (including source code) and a tool for the display of Journaline data that is sent as part of the DRM broadcast signal. Full schematics and board layout information are also provided.
