MIL-STD-1553B Data Bus Couplers

Cinch Trompeter's MIL-STD-1553B data bus couplers provide the required interface to connect bus controllers, remote terminals, and bus monitors to the bus itself. While its data rate of 1 Mbps seems slow by current standards, it is more than sufficient to transfer the command, control, and status messages between the attached systems. The bus is typically less than 100 meters in length, uses 78 Ω twinax cable, is terminated on both ends with 78 Ω termination resistors (internal or external), and can support up to 30 remote terminals (computers, sensors, monitors, armaments, etc.) each connected to a bus coupler stub of shorter than 20 feet.

The bus couplers complement the complete line of Trompeter MIL-STD-1553B devices that include cable assemblies, terminators, RFI caps, connectors, and adapters.
