The GDT35 series expands Bourns’ tradition of quality, innovation, and design in gas discharge tube (GDT) overvoltage surge arrestors and sets a standard in speed and robustness. Similar to the previously released two-electrode model GDT25 series, the GDT35 series provides significant improvements in protection from voltage transients caused by lightning or accidental contact with AC power lines. With improvements driven by computer modeling simulations, the GDT35 next-generation series provides improved surge current handling capability and enhanced level of voltage limiting during fast-rising events to reduce stress on downstream components. For this three-electrode version, Bourns’ unique coplanarity fit allows the component to toggle in either direction until a three-point contact is established.
The low capacitance and low insertion loss make the GDT35 series an ideal solution for protecting industrial communications and high-speed information and communication technology (ICT) equipment.
Bourns’ GDT35 design kit (DK-GDT35-01) contains an assortment of five pieces each of the eight most popular model GDT35 voltages to provide design engineers with various protection solutions for quick-turn prototype testing.
