BMM350 Magnetometer

Bosch Sensortec high-accuracy, low-noise magnetometers feature unique field shock recovery

Image of Bosch Sensortec's BMM350 MagnetometerThe Bosch BMM350 digital pathfinder enables tracking of head movements and thus 3D audio for a personalized sound experience. In the AR/VR area, Bosch takes up the struggle against motion sickness with the reduction of pixel latency. The 16-bit 3-axis magnetometer can be used in wearables and hearables, smartphones and tablets, AR and VR, and various vehicles. It is almost invisible due to its small size (1.28 mm x 1.28 mm x 0.5 mm) and has 20 times lower current consumption compared to its previous generation. The BMM350 impresses with high accuracy and ultra-low noise. The BMM350 is based on innovative TMR (tunnel magnetoresistance) technology and includes a unique field shock recovery feature. This capability makes the device very robust against external magnetic fields, ensuring high accuracy at all times.

Features
  • Available communication interfaces are I3C or I2C
  • "Data ready" interrupt signals when new data is available
  • If status polling is preferred, a “data ready” status register can be read out
Applications
  • Head orientation for 3D audio
  • Indoor navigation, such as step counting in combination with accelerometers
  • Reduced pixel latency in AR/VR applications
  • Positioning and speed detection of vehicles or industrial machines
